This jacket is inspired by an Austrian straw hat, circa 1930s. The hat brim was embroidered with this twining wildflower-and-vine pattern. We reproduced the floral embroidery along the pockets, placket, and cuffs of this piece. The embroidery is worked in colorful yarn and metallic bullion braid, with silver sequins studded throughout.
